About the role

 

Reporting into the IT Applications & Services Superintendent, the primary purpose of the IT Support Officer role is to provide IT service desk technical support and assistance to employees, contractors and vendors who are experiencing IT-related issues or problems within Atlas. You will also be responsible for resolving issues quickly and efficiently, ensuring that the organisation's IT infrastructure is functioning optimally.

 

Main responsibilities of the role include:

 

  • Providing technical support to users within the organisation, including maintaining and installing hardware, software, printers, telephones, and mobile devices.
  • Be the first point of contact for IT-related enquiries, requests, and issues, and triage, prioritise, and respond to them in a timely manner, escalating tasks as required.
  • Be responsible for user account management and maintaining currency in IT access.
  • Organise repairs and replacements of IT/Comms equipment, and monitoring and maintaining IT systems.
  • Follow and provide continuous improvement input to IT governance documents, procedures, and end user knowledge articles.
  • Maintain data quality in the IT system to a high standard.
  • Interact and maintain vendor and supplier relationships for support.
  • Occasional travel to site and some out-of-hours work may be required.

 

About you

You will be an individual who can think outside the box, can work autonomously and with limited supervision, have an eye for detail with excellent communication skills.

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

 

  • From Entry level to 2 years’ experience in IT Service Desk, Helpdesk and Desktop Support or similar roles, within a corporate and remote user service arrangement.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate with customers or colleagues.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a team environment with collaborative skills to resolve issues.
  • Relevant qualifications with Certificate III in Information, Digital Media and Technology as the minimum requirement.

Below are preferred but not essential:

 

  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) and ITIL Foundation certification.
  • Experience in customer service, technical support, or a related field.
  • Experience in troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Familiarity with operating systems (such as Windows or macOS).
  • Experience in handling basic networking issues.
