About the role
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary the primary purpose of the Specialist Risk role is the facilitation and execution of the enterprise risk management practices and activities for the development, maintenance and verification of risk information to be used in decision-making and management reporting. This includes the development and maintenance of risk profiles and management plans, plus supporting the development of the organisation’s risk management capability through guidance and coaching.
Main Responsibilities:
- Facilitate risk management workshops, reviews and assessments, as planned in accordance with the Risk Management Plan or in response to on-demand requests from the business.
- Support the coordination of all Operational Risk Committee and Audit, Corporate Risk Committee and Risk Management Committee meeting requirements.
- Support the preparation and coordination of risk reporting for all governance committee meetings, including major capital and key operations projects.
- Support the business in the development, maintenance and testing of the Business Continuity Plans (Resumption and Recovery) and Management process for all critical functions and assets.
- Support the coordination and integration of key business risk information into the annual business planning process.
- Verify and validation of all risk information recorded in the Corporate Risk Management System (Database) and associated reporting.
- Conduct periodic analysis and reporting on all incident event data to support risk profile analysis verification and management interventions.
- Support the delivery of the Governance System’s Key Decision, Options Assessment and Management of Change processes.
- Support the ongoing development and maintenance of the risk management framework in line with leading industry practices.
- Support the ongoing development and maintenance of the change management framework in line with leading industry practices
- Collaborate and continually interface with the Roy Hill Risk team to ensure there is consistency across operations.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Systems and Governance Management Policies, Procedures and Processes.
- Ensure the management, reporting and timely delivery of improvement initiatives.
- Assist in the identification and analysis of emerging trends in the external environment which will affect business requirements.
About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A degree majoring in Commerce, Engineering, or other relevant discipline.
- 5 years’+ experience in a risk and or audit management position, within the resources, engineering or industrial environment.
- Significant knowledge and understanding of the application of enterprise risk management methodology, processes, and tools.
- Significant knowledge and understanding of the application of change management methodology, processes, and tools.
- Demonstrated experience in the facilitation of workshops, audits, and reviews.
- Heightened communication capability, influencing and negotiating skills with the ability to build credibility and trust.
- Ability to develop working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Accomplished verbal and written communicator at all levels and through various mediums and a high level of attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to drive change and performance improvement.
- Analytical problem solver with business acumen.
- Ability to look at the big picture as well as individual issues.
The following qualifications and experience are desirable:
- Qualified in other technical disciplines such as Business Continuity Management, Project Management, Quality Control and Assurance.
- 5 years’+ experience in corporate governance, business, commercial, assurance, or project management.
- Previous experience in Business Continuity Planning and Management, Disaster Recovery Management or Crisis Management.
- Previous experience in audit.
